“To actualize a dream that in reality, has already come true.” - Soulajit
Jeremy Ian Thomas is multimedia artist and polymath with roots in music, film, philosophy and 3D visual content creation based in Los Angeles, California. Jeremy began his artistic journey in 1994 recording his first song at the tender age of 14 under the moniker “Surreal”.
Unbeknownst to a wide eyed teenager it was just the beginning of a lifelong pursuit to express himself that would have him traversing the globe and his inner landscape on a search for higher understanding. After a successful career as an independent Hip Hop artist sharing stages from Europe to Asia with the likes of De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, and Wu Tang Clan, Thomas made a shift into film making attending the Los Angeles Film School and delving into the extensive world of light and shadow. Living in the big city with no contacts - scaling its streets on foot, he began absorbing all he could while learning everything from Directing to Editing and visual effects. “I had to do it all myself because I had no other choice, necessity was my mother of invention.” One of these skills was 3D rendering and animation.
After stumbling onto the work of Mike Winkleman better known as Beeple, his life would never be the same. Winkleman was open sourcing his project files and Thomas began reverse engineering Winkleman’s wizardry.
Immersing himself in the world of daily rendering he amassed a wealth of techniques solving the puzzles inside massively deep learning curves by pushing himself to create original art - everyday - for a years. Today Jeremy creates images imbued with psychedelic symbology bridging the gap between art and commerce. All the skills he’s collected over the past 28 years coalesce into a potent brew of conscious sensorial experiences. 3 dimensional story telling, scored masterfully while communicating the beautiful, ugly and otherworldly sets Thomas part in the new paradigm where artist are finally being recognized as cultural conduits.
