Artist Statement:

Layers is a photographic exhibition exploring the connection between basketball, art & culture. Through intimate portraits and other mixed media elements, I tell a story of myself and the athletes that I’ve captured. The worlds of fashion and basketball have taken my work globally, all of which is represented in this exhibition. My central theme expands beyond duality and encourages people to think beyond the surface. Just as clothes have layers, so do people and so does art. A large part of the work also encompasses the appreciation of the artistic process. Concepts can provide layers to work that the final image or product doesn’t always reveal.
